Can L1 or L2 Visa holder can trade US Stocks

Hi

I am working for a tech firm as an engineer and my self and my spouse came to US in L1 & L2 visa.

Can myself or my spouse can trade US stocks? if yes, does that requires any prerequisites?

You can trade stocks occasionally but cannot fit into the definition of a day-trader.
