  • L1 Query-- urgent plz

    Hi,

I am in usa on L1 visa and have I 94 till another one year. If I quit xyz company here in usa and which means losing my L1 ....is that valid to stay in usa for another one month with only my I-94.

    Thanks!

No, you lose status the day you quit your L1 sponsoring company. But another month of stay will be overlooked I guess. Do you plan to move back to home country for good?

By the way, how did you choose your id here as 'Rsquare'? Do you know what that means? Just curious

      Thanks for a quick reply..

Actually there was along discussion going on..

I thought i crossed the limit of queries in one single forum ..so started the new one...

Coming to my story.. I am planning to apply for L2 visa but the company in which my husband is working kept the clause that ...i shouldn't be working on L1 which started my confusion again...

Since my project in usa is getting over by this month end thought why not i exit my xyz company and then the apply for L2 which may take a month time.

I heard that people on H1 visa are not allowed to stay not more than a week even though they have valid I 94 ...which again triggered all these questions in my small little brain.

Can you please tell me if there would be any legal problem for my month of stay period here with only I-94

By the way ...For me ..since my husband and my name starts with "R" ..we gave a name to ourselves as "Rsqaure" ....

      General meaning is
      R square (R2)
Square of the correlation coefficient. The proportion of the variability in one series that can be explained by the variability of one or more other series a regression model. A measure of the quality of fit. 100% R-square means perfect predictability

I know this forum is not meant for maths stuff...

You should be fine. Just remember to send the application to change over to L2 before you quit company xyz. Best scenario is uscis receives your application for COS from L1 to L2 before you quit xyz.

Why does your husband's company have a clause about your working status in a contract that was signed by them and your husband?

You were right on about R-square. Its the square of correlation coefficient between observed and model prediceted data. It measures how good is the model you are trying to fit to the data. Higher the better. It can be between 0 and 1 and sometimes expressed as a %.

I'm a statistician myself so I kinda caught the tech term R-square
