  • Which Consulate?

I'm working in the US on an L1B. The visa stamped on the passport expired in 2006,however,my I-94 date was extended to Oct 2009(approved extension). I plan to visit India later this month. Can I go to any of the four consulates or I need to go to the Chennai consulate where my original visa was stamped?

The VFS website is a bit confusing as it says Visa renewals are only applicable if your visa expired less than 12 months back which is not the case with me.

    Any pointers?
