L1 Visa Extension Query

Hi,

My company is planning to apply for expedited L1 extension in April 2009 and I expect to have it approved by May 1 2009 and get a new I-94. My L1 visa is expiring in Oct 2009 and I hope the extension will be till Oct 2011.

I wish to travel to Europe on May 15 2009. While reentering the US, will it be enough for me to show the extension approval document? Will the immigration officer give me an I-94 with the new extended expiry date or the old one?

If you already have an approved extension, the I-94 will be given until the new date of extension provided you show the new I797 at POE.
