Hi,
My wife is on a H1-B visa and I am on a L1 visa.
We would like to change her visa status to L2 (my dependent).
Does she have to be added to my petition (by my company), get her interview done in India, get the stamping and then come back here? In short, does she have to leave the country to get the visa status changed?
If not, assuming that she can get a COS done here, will there be any legal implications when my L1 gets extended next year? i.e., does L2 also have to be applied separately for extension?
Also, can we apply for COS ourselves or should we go through my company (my company is insisting that she come back for the change)?
