Blanket L1 Petition Expiry

Hi,

My company had a L1 blanket petition approved for me in September 2008. Because there were no suitable projects, I hadnt got the L1 Visa stamped. I now have been asked to report to an onsite assignment urgently, when I tried to get my L1 petition stamped I was told that my L1 petition is now void because I hadnt got it stamped in 6 months from the time of approval(even though my file says the petition is valid till 2011) . Is this true?

Also, what are my options now? If my company applies for a fresh L1 blanket petition will I be able to get the petition in 1-2 weeks?

Yes ..if your employer premium process your case then you might get approval with in 10-15 calendar days.
