I would like to share my experience with L1B Extension which got approved yesterday . I want to thank all senior members for providing valuable information on all visa related queries .
I-94 Expiry date = 15 Feb 09
L1x applied in Oct 08
Receipt Date 25 Nov 08
RFE - 3 Feb
Responded = 25 mar 09
Approval Received - 21 May 09 .
I was 99% sure that my extension will be rejected since all my friends in similar boat in same company as mine got their extensions rejected ( around 5 of them ) and I had done all my planning to go back. But to my surprise the extension got approved yesterday .
I am analyzing the reasons .
I am sharing the reasons , maybe they make sense , maybe not
1) Most of my friends mentioned generic skills like Project Management in their profile bcoz thats what they were doing . I was a doing multiple roles of PM and technical lead .
2) I work in hardcore J2ee technologies which are in demand even these days and maybe there is shortage of them in USA . All my other friends were working on MVS or Project management stuff
3) I had Java certification .
4) Perception change amongst the USCIS folks
5) I was plain lucky which is strange coz i never won any lottery,or even a game of bingo !!! Guess lady luck smiled on me at the right time !!
