I am L1B visa holder working in US. My wife is a L2 visa holder. We are expecting a child this year end during nov. i have the following questions
1. we know that the child is going to get US citizenship by default if he is born in the US and we know that the child can decide to choose to stay in US or India after 18 years of his age. Considering the fact that we wont visit US frequently in future, What are the benefits to the parents in future and if we grow up the child in India, then he would be treated as NRI and we have to spend more for education in India. Is this correct?
2. Can we opt to get Indian citizenship and apply for Indian passport instead of US passport for the child even though the child is born in US? and if we could get Indian passport and citizenship, do we need to get any visa for the child to travel back to India?
