L1 and pregnancy

Hi Pals,

My Wife is working on L1 and she is pregnant. And her company has started laying off. If in case she is laid off (After which she will be out of status), is there any provision for extending her Visa till her Due date?

Since we need to take a immediate step in this, any quick reply to this would help us a lot. Thanks!

It depends on various factors:

1. How many months pregnant.
2. Employer rules regarding disability leave, Her medical condition etc.

But after laid off she cannot extend her visa.
Talk to her company HR. They should answer your questions.

It would be 29 weeks by this weekend. If there isn't any provision for her L1 extension on this basis, what would be other options? Thanks in advance!

What is your current status? You can add her as your dependent and setup her insurance.

If you get a doctor's note that she cannot travel, the company has no choice but to maintain her legal status in US by some means.
