L2 Restamping in Canada

Hi Senior Members,

My wife has L2 visa valid till Sep 2011. We changed her surname in new Passport. Now we need to update her visa with new Name on her New Passport. We are planning to get it done in canada but not sure if she does not get new visa with updated name can she make an entry with her old visa to US again??? If this is the case do we need to go back to India to get it done. Please Advise.

It is up to the discretion of the CBP officer. Why do you need to update the visa?

We are applying for fresh visa to get SSN for my wife as SS officer has denied SSN for my wife coz she has different surname on her New Passport and old L2 visa.
