Goin out of the country while spouse has un stamped L2

Hi

My husband and I came to US on L1 visas from our own companies. Due to some reasons, my husband quit his company and did a COS to L2 and got an EAD as well. He also applied for an H1 in this year's quota and got approval for the same, which will be valid from Oct 1st this yr.
Now, I need to go out of US for a week on an emergency next week.
I heard from a colleague that my husband's L2 and EAD will become invalid if I go out of the country, since its dependant on my I94. Is that true?

That is not true for temporary stay outside US. If your L1 is not valid as your job or position is revoked, L2 cannot remain in the US. If you plan on returning back to US on a L1 again after a few days of vacation and continue work, everything is fine.
