Can SSN be applied if EAD is in process for L2 visa

Hi,

I am a L2 visa holder and I have applied for EAD last month. It is in the processing stage.
1) Can I apply for SSN in parallel too if I haven't received my EAD yet.
2) My Surname on my Passport and Marriage Certificate are different (passport has before marriage surname and marriage certificate has after marriage surname). Will this effect while I apply for SSN.
If yes, what I can do in that case?

You just have to go as per the passport for SSN and EAD. You can apply for SSN without EAD in hand only for L2 visa.

Please let me know if I apply for SSN without EAD in my hand then should I need to submit my marriage certificate as a proof?
As my surnames are different on passport and marriage certificate, will this then effect me in any manner?If yes, what can i do in that case.

If I wait for EAD approval first and then apply for SSN, will in this case marriage certificate be required?

Why is your marriage certificate even important for a SSN? Your name should go by what is there on your passport, visa and I-94.

Hi I am on L2 visa and have applied for EAD electronically .but i have not submitted any document as nothing was asked as such,I have also completed my Biometric test and after passing of 90 days I received one mail regarding submission of few initial evidence document .Can any one plz tell is it the normal process and if yes then when I will be receiving my EAD.
or I have to submitte my docs earlier for which I was not aware .As of now I have not applied for SSN as my EAD was in process ,now my Spouse who is on L 1 visa has to file tax ,how will he be showing his dependent ,as I don't have the SSN with me ,plz suggest any solution
