L1 Visa - Clarification

Hello,

I came in a B1/B2 visa to US from India. After 5 months my visa status was changed to L1B (me without going to India). Only my visa status was changed and my passport still has B1/B2 stamp. I got my new I94 with L1B status. and now the question...

The L1 visa I got was for 1 year for a particular project. Now my organisation is willing to offer me a permanant role in US a liitle different from my project L1. While I am planning to go to India in some time whay is the process for my new visa now. Is it ammendment to my existing visa. If so can the extension also be obtained while amending? Has any one had this kind of experience earlier?

Have them file a H1b for you.
