  • L1 status update

    Hi,

My L1B extension is approved and I received I797 with new I94. On USCIS site my case status is updated as below. What does it mean? My lawyer has not yet received any document. Please advise. Thanks.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
On September 1, 2009, your document I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER was processed and mailed to the address on record. If you have not received it within 30 days of September 1, 2009, contact our customer service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move while your case is pending, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a green card) or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, refugee travel documents or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

Naturalization Applicants: you will receive your certificate at your oath ceremony. You can expect to be scheduled for an oath ceremony within 45 days of receiving your decision. Many offices schedule approved applicants for the oath ceremony on the same day as the day of the interview. Please check the local office profile page on our Web site to determine if this applies to your local office.

If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283

    Just ignore it.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Hi, My current I-94 is expiring on Oct 30th 2009 and my extension is approved.
I am going to travel to India for 2 weeks and returning by Oct 17th.

What documents do I need to show to the officer to get a new I-94.
Is original I-797 approval enough? FYI approval was came with I-94.

While leaving US, return all I-94's.
While reentering, I-797 would suffice to get new I-94.
(They might also ask for employment letter, pay stubs etc. Be ready to show what is asked for).

In this case, Will they give the end date of i-94 from VISA or from I-797?

          And

If we get extend L1-B while dependants in India with valid L2 VISA, Can they come to US with L2 Visa anytime before expiring the L2 VISA?

          Please help.

          Thanks in advance.

            >>>>> It is hard to predict the expiry date of one's I-94. Usually it matches (or close to) the date on the approval notice. Some people get additional days. If your passport expires before the date on the approval notice, then you might get an I-94 only till the the passport expiry date.

            >>>>> As long as their visa is valid, they can return back.
