  • Travel on L1 or L2

    Hi,

I currently have an L1, I was on an assignment to the US that ended in June and I returned to India in July. My L1 is valid till Dec 2010.
I got married a coupla weeks back, my husband - an L1 holder, is now back in the US. I would like to join him.
Is it ok to travel on the L1? I might have to go to the US on another project - its not clear yet, however irrespective of that I'd like to join my husband by late Oct. Should I apply for an L2? Wouldn't this make my L1 out of status? Will I have to apply for an L1 again if I have to travel on another assignment??

    Please help.

You cannot travel in your L1 visa. You need to apply for L2. There are more possibility for your existing L1 to get cancelled when you attend the L2 visa interview. It depends on the VO.
