Letter Explaining why wife is coming separately

I am currently in US and processing my wife's L2 visa now. I need to provide an letter explaining why she is coming separately.

I am searching for the suitable format.

Can any one give me the format.

Why is there a need for such a letter? There is no requirement for the spouse to travel with the husband.
