  • Need L1/L2 extension letter

    Hi,

Just got passports renewed here in the US. The date on the I-94 stamped only till the validity of the old passport (March 2010). My question is, if I apply for an extension letter for the L1/L2 visa now, how long will the process take? Some people have told me it takes about 6 mos!

    Thank you.

Normally 30-90 days. For faster processing, a company may apply for Premium Processing Service, which speeds up USCIS response time to within fifteen (15) days of receipt of a petition, application or other documents.

If it is just your I-94 that is till March and your actual petition is beyond that, then you can leave the country and return back to get a new I-94 till the expiration of your approval notice (provided you have a valid L1/L2 visa. If not, you need to get it stamped).
