  • Regarding L1 Extension

    Hi,
My sister is a L1 Visa Holder, but she still hasnt travelled to US yet. Her visa is getting expired by Dec 31st, 2009. Would an extension now is possible from India? In case shes travelling to US next week, can she again file for an extension from here? For visa renewal would she have to go to a U.S. consulate or embassy outside the United States?

    >>>> There is no such thing as visa extension. The petition need to be valid to apply for a new visa. The employer can apply for a new L1B petition and when that gets approved, she can go for a new L1 stamping.

    >>>> Visa is only an entry document. Once inside U.S, it is the I-94 validity that counts. Visa stamping can be done only from outside the United States.
