I am an Indian national currently working in the US on L1B visa, for the past 2 years. My L1B is due for renewal in July 2010. My employer is willing to apply for my H1B or L1A visa.
1. Of the above, which is the best option for me, considering that I want to apply for my green card soon (through my employer).
2. Prior to coming to US, I was working as a project manager for more than a year with the same company's Indian subsidiary. I worked in the Indian subsidiary from Nov 2004 to Jan 2008 and then joined the US subsidiary. While in the US too, I am working as a supervisor/account manager with direct reportees from professional staff in the Indian subsidiary. I am also responsible for the financial health of the business unit/account as well as client relationship and escalation management. My I 797 (for L1B visa) states my job title as Software Engineer Specialist. However, my official designation in the US subsidiary is that of Account Manager. Am I eligible to apply for a L1A visa?
