I am applying for L1B blanket and tentatively attend for PA in January last week 2010. My passport will expire on Sep2010. Will that be of any problem.
If I want to renew my passport in india how many days it would take?

What if visa officer ask me like your passport is valid only till sep 2010 and how can we issue L1B for 3 years.

That totally depends on the VO. Some VO may issue you a visa only till the passport expiry even though you have a petition that is valid for a longer duration. However, most of the time you will get a visa until the petition expiry date.

Even if you have a visa for a shorter duration, you may get the I-94 until the petition expiry at the POE (again, this totally depends on the officer at the POE). On the other hand, if you get a visa until the petition expiry, the officer at the POE can decide to give you the I-94 only till your passport expiry (It all depends on your luck).

So if you don't want to worry about all this, then it is better to renew your passport before you go for the stamping. You can renew your passport 1 year from the expiry date.
