  • Is L1 location specific

My husband works for a client in state A and I work from state B. We both are on L1. Since my husband's client is fine with his working remotely, he works from home in State B. His payroll is run from State A and hence he pays State A's state tax. He has got his driver's license in State B. His L1 is due for extension and we are wondering whether his working remotely would cause any issue since we are not sure whether L1 is location specific and whether he needs to move back to State A (the state he pays the tax for).

    Can someone help

I have exactly same situation. My client is in state A where I travel one week in a month and work from home in state B for rest of the time as my wife is working there and thats my residence. My employer is in state C. Which location I should give as work location in form DS-160 while going for visa renewal.

L1 is not location specific...you are working in the same state as where your client is,paying taxes for same state as well so you are fine
