Passport expiry and new visa

Hello,

I am currently on L1B visa working in the US. My L1B visa is expiring in May 2012. I am planning to go for higher studies in the US on F1 Visa in fall 2010.
This means I have to take my student visa in July 2010. My passport is expiring on 11 Oct 2011.

Will the issueance of F1 Visa be a problem ?

No issues. You have more than a year for passport expiry.
