L1A RFE just before 240 days of Visa expiry

Hi All,

A friend of mine had applied for L1A extension under norman processing.The 240 days after Visa expiry will be over on March 30th.
He upgraded his application to Premium and got RFE today.
By the time he responds and decision comes, it will be more than 240 days.

Can he stay in USA and not work until final decision comes?If yes what is the process?

Hi, could you please let me know L1A Extension receipt date of your frd. Even we are also reaching 240 days of visa expiry and still no update on L1A visa extension. What is the receipt date and which service center , your frd L1A extension went?

We are also in a confusion to go premium or not. Receipt date of mine is June 15th and in California center and now the processing time passed my receipt date. (Now its showing June 29 for California L Intra company transfers in USCIS Processing times).

Yes, he can stay beyond 240 days, but he cannot work. There is no process, just try to respond to RFE asap.

And consult an attorney, it will be worth spending some money on attorney, rather risking visa & petition.
