L1 visa status question if relocating overseas

hi , i have unique situation. I am on L1 visa valid until sep 2020 and my wife on l2 has the ead (work authorization) also till sep2020. My wife is working on l2 ead.
now i have an offer to relocate with the same company to canada for a diff project. , and hence will have to move to canadian payroll in aug-sep. My visa still being valid , can my wife continue staying here in usa and working ?
i wanted to know before i agree to relocate.
Its not that l1 visa becomes invalid only thing i am off on us payroll

No, she is on dependent visa. If you (primary) are not maintaining your valid status, her status will be void.

Just having the visa in your passport doesn't give you L1 status. You'll need to submit return in USA & pay taxes in USA.

It will be illegal & problematic for her to continue staying & working in USA without you.
