Staples or paper clips to bind documents

I am due for a visa interview at Chennai. I have read that US consulates does not allow metal artefacts during visa interview.

We have a bunch of documents/forms to carry. Would it be okay to staple the documents or use metal paper clips/pins to held the documents to-gather? Or they may have an objection for using metal clips/pins and we should only use plastic pins to fasten the documents?

I've been multiple times for visa interview - never had issues with stapled or pinned documents.
