Change in citizenship post L1 issued

I am applying for an L1-B visa to be able to work in my company's US headquarters.
I have been working in the Indian entity for 18 months now.

I am going to be acquiring Portuguese citizenship soon. And because Indian does not allow dual citizenship, I will have to renounce its citizenship.

Q1. If I apply for the L1 on my Indian passport now and go to the US, can it be transferred (say 6 months after working in the US) to my Portuguese passport after I acquire the citizenship?

Q2. If I acquire Portuguese citizenship now, I will have to apply for a work permit to continue working in the Indian entity. In this case, there might be a gap in employment during this process. Will I then be eligible to apply for the L1 on my Portuguese passport?

Yes, you can do that. You just need to visit an embassy outside to get visa stamped.

No, because the requirement of L1 visa is that you worked for same company for 1 year in last 3 years.
