L1 Individual visa validity Clarification

Hi, I have expiry date of my L1 individual visa as 23-06-2022 but the the Petition expiry date(PED) is mentioned in the visa as 30-09-2019, PED is actually my I 797(approval notice) expiry date.
I have not traveled to US with this visa yet.

Which is the last date I can travel to US my PED(30-09-2019,) or visa expiration date(23-06-2022)?

If I could not travel before PED is it possible to apply for extension as my visa expiry date is 23-06-2022 (please note no travel has been made with this visa)

After your expiry of current petition (I797), you can travel (airlines won't stop you, since you have a valid visa). But at POE you won't get entry into USA. Check your visa, you might have an annotation there to provide a valid petition at POE.

Since your visa is still valid, you'll just need to have your petition renewed & you can move to USA (no need for another stamping before 23-06-2022).

Please contact your company HR or attorney - only they can initiate the extension process, you cannot.

You need to have a valid petition at all days you are "working" in USA. So you won't be able to work & get paid after 09/30-2019 without a new valid petition of a extension application in process.

You can file for extension anytime between before 6 months of expiry and last day of your petition expiry date.

Frankly now-a-days, getting extension for an L1B petition is really risky. They are extensively reviewing all application to verify if the candidate is really an specialized skill person.
