L1 and H1

I have the following problem on hand

I applied for H1B from Employer A in the year 2008. This was approved in Oct 2008 and the I797 is valid till last quarter of 2011. I didnt go for the Visa stamping though.

My employer B in India, in the meantime filed for L1 and i moved to the US in 2008. I have been here for the past year and half. Due to recession A was not willing to get me to USA during the period.

Since I cannot change my employer in USA being on L1 can i still use the H1.

1. Is the petition still valid that i can get my visa stamping done ?
2. Can any other employer use this H1 and transfer it?
3. Should A be willing for the H1 process to work out for me ?

1. Yes. Stamping not required if you want to switch while in US. Apply for COS.
