  • Have L1A. Change job and employer. How to get working visa?

    - I'm European. Live and works currently in TX under L1A still on the first 3 years term (Wife + 2 kids have L2).
    - Have got an interesting job offer in IL by another european based company. they are going to establish a new inc. in the US.
    - I believe that I cannot take employment for the new employer under my current L1A (?) (And I have not worked for this potential new employer before, so I will not meet the 'L' requirement of previous employment with them)
    - What is then the easiest / best (Most sure) way of getting my papers done?
    - What options (Types of visa) do I have?
    - How is the process?
    - Any way I can get 'pre-approved'? (I would need to be pretty sure that I can actually get the visa before I resign from my current job...)
Is it correctly understood that I, as I have not worked for this company before, cannot qualify for EB-1C green card?
    - Are there other greencards that would be an option?

Advise / insight is highly appreciated.

H1 is the best option. You need to apply in April and if approved, can start work from Oct 1st.

    B1 also works for 1- 3 months.

GC is not a problem. It's for future employment.
