Does Canada/Mexico visa consulates take first time L1A stamping?

Hello team,

Am currently working on H4 EAD in the US and my employer has initiated my L1A processing.
Can someone please confirm if I can go to Canada or Mexico visa consulate for my stamping? Does these 2 countries take first time L1A stamping and conversion?

Yes, you can go there & get your visa stamped.

Thanks for the quick response, but I have been informed by our company’s internal visa processing team that both Mexico and Canada has stopped accepting visa stamping for first time L1A and conversion cases. Hence recommended to visit my home country, i.e India. Can you confirm if this is not the case.

Might be a latest change which I am not aware of.

Going back to home country is always recommended.
