Query regarding converting to L2 on visitor visa

Hi,
My Girlfriend is going to US on L1 visa. I plan to go to US on visitor and then marrying her in US and converting to L2 visa. I also have a B1 and H1 (which was filed in Oct 2008 but is not stamped yet) but as far as I know I cannot get my H1 transferred in US on a tourist visa. My questions are :-
1) Can I marry in US and convert to L2 on visitor visa ?
2) How much time will it take to be authorized to work in US ?
3) How much cost will it take for the conversion and can I file L2 on my own ? Or, do I need my GF's company to file for my L2 ?
4) Can I get my H1 transferred while I am on a visitor visa ?

>>> You can marry her in U.S. However, COS to L2 from B1 is not advisable (Although it is still an option). The best option is to go out of U.S, get the L2 stamped and re-enter in L2 visa.

>>> If you are applying for a COS to L2, then you can apply for EAD along with that. It takes 2-3 months for the COS to get approved.

>>> You can file L2 on your own. It takes ~$300. Look at form I-539 in immihelp (If you plan is to apply for a COS).

4) Can I get my H1 transferred while I am on a visitor visa ?
>>> Yes. But not advisable. You can look for a job. When you get a job, go out of U.S, get the H1B stamped and re-enter. COS from B1 to H1B is not advisable.
