can L2 dependent visa be cancelled

Hi, Me and my wife are working for the same company. I have got my L1 visa initiated and I'm planning to apply for L2 for my wife too. After travelling with L2 visa, is it possible to cancel the L2 and then reapply for an L1 or H1 at a later stage.

Cos to L1 is not possible. However, she can find a job which qualifies for H1B and apply for a COS from L2 to H1B. Alternatively, L2 holders and allowed to apply for EAD. When EAD gets approved, she can start working.
