  • L1 Visa transfer

I just moved to the US on a L1. If i decide to apply for a new job within the US can my L1 be transfer to a company willing to take the transfer? Would there be a visa rejection issue, since we landed in the US recently?

L1 cannot be transferred. Read this.

The new employer will need to file an H1b for you.

2-3 months by normal process and 15 days by premium. If you don't already have an H1B, then you need to wait to apply in April to be counted in the CAP.

It's very much advisable to do the first time H1B stamping in the home country.
