  • L1 B blanket VISA denied under 'not clearly approvable' and handed over 221G

    Hello members,
I have recently got a 221G blue slip under 'not clearly approvable' status for my L1B blanket VISA from Chennai consulate officer.
He said he was not convinced with my specialized knowledge information.
He has suggested me to work with my HR to go through a different VISA.

My company's law attorney is going though filing L1B individual premium internally through USCIS. Did any one face this situation and get VISA approved?
Mine is a leading semiconductor company, and I have 7+ years of experience.
Please let me know any suggestions in the next steps.

    Thanks a lot

Almost 50% of blanket applications are denied on the same ground & out of which almost everyone applies with individual petition & gets the visa stamped/.

Go ahead, if you are really an specialized skill person, you'll get the visa soon.

        Hello all,
Post the 221G blue slip denial, my company applied for L1 individual visa petition at the US consulate internally with premium processing. The i-129 got approved in a week without RFE!!!
Now, I am looking to setup a new appointment at the consulate with the i-129 approval form. I see that the wait times at hyderabad consulate is very high>2months.
Can I book a visa interview appointment at any consulate in India? Mumbai seems to have slots in 10days. I see this consulate is being determined based on the state of residence we fill while appointment scheduling. Please help. Also, any other tips?

        Thanks a lot!

It depends on your residence or work location. If you live near to Hyderabad then you should book there only.

I have attended the OFC(biometrics) appointment at Hyd consulate already and have Visa IV scheduled to Jan9. Is it possible to reschedule(prepone) the Visa IV, after the biometrics is done?
Can we do so without additional fee? Please help asap.

Interviews are slotted based on available appointments. Keep checking the available appointment & reschedule your interview accordingly.

Thanks everyone for the help. My Visa was approved on 11/13. It went like a breeze as the L1 individual petition was already approved.
