  • Should my company try for a L1 or H1B visa?

I am working for a big software company (let's say Microsoft) from Belgium (I am a German citizen).

I started working for "Microsoft" (it is a comparable company) August 2016. The people I am working with are all US based and working through the time zones is not optimal so my employer and my goal is to move sweepstakes slots to the US (and acquire a Greencard if possible).

The question now is whether to wait for August 2017 to apply for a L1 visa or to try for a H1B visa already in April. Can both be done? What would you do? Any experience?10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 hotmail.com

    Thanks!

Its 2019 now, so if you haven't changed your job (still working with comparable company of Microsoft) then you can apply for L1.

For H1 you'll need to wait for Apr 2020 to file your petition & for Oct 2020 to get is approved/stamped & travel.
