Will my existing H1B be cancelled if my L1A visa gets approved

Hi,
I was in US on H1B visa for 4.5 years. I returned to India as my H1B amendment got denied. Now my employer is willing to apply L1A visa for me. I have the following question. Request you to kindly provide your input.
-If my L1A visa is approved, will my existing H1B visa get automatically cancelled (around 1.5 yrs of uncaptured time is still there)?

To the best of my knowledge, since you have already spent 4.5 yrs on H1, you can only spend the remaining 2.5 years on L1A.
