L1A extension after maxout

Hi All, I have questions regarding my current situation and would be highly appreciative if someone can provide guidance / share experience.
I'm approaching my max out period on my L1A visa in Mar'20 ; i140 is approved but i485 is not yet filed due to retrogression.

However looking at the current AOS filing scenario not sure when that happen. Can someone please share what are my options available that will allow me to extend my stay.
What is the cool off period - is it different if I go to home country vs. to any other country.

You only have 2 options left with you:
1. File for H1 based on your approved I140 & re-enter USA with H1.
2. Move back to your home country & wait for the date to become current or live to file your 485 through consular processing.
