L2 visa remote working in US till the EAD arrives

Hi,

I will be moving to the US on a L2 visa and will be applying for an EAD. Till the time I get the EAD, can I continue to work for my Indian employer remotely?

Will there be any legal and tax implications of doing so?

I do not want to miss out on job opportunities that my current employer has in the US, and once I get an EAD - I can apply for the openings in the US subsidiary of my Indian employer directly, which I believe would be easier to crack as it can be treated as internal job movement.

Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.

Till the time you are on your Indian company's payroll & got paid in INR only, you can work.

You'll show your income in India & pay tax there only.

You cannot work in USA till you get your EAD in your hand. You can apply from India, but cannot be paid in USD.
