L1 Visa Extension in Japan for Indian Citizen.

Hi,

I recently got my L1 visa extension approved by USICS (currently living in US). The existing Visa expired 4 months back. My employer wants me to travel to Japan for official work. Can i get my visa extension stamped in the JP US consulate.

The USICS website says if i am legally present there i can get the visa stamping done in Tokyo.

Looking for any feedback or suggestions.
