L1 VISA issued but unable to travel to us as the current project completed

Hi, My L1 individual petition approved , and I have got the VISA as well, but I could not travel as my project in the approved location is completed suddenly. Is it possible to amend the work site change to a different location ? I have heard of amending the work location after reaching US, but since I never traveled, it is possible to amend?
Appreciate your help in this regard.
