Query about L2 EAD

I have been working in USA on L1-A Individual Visa. My Spouse has been working on L2- EAD. My visa is going to expire in March, 2020 and EAD is also valid till March 2020.

My company suggesting me to go Canada for L1 A Blanket visa stamping.

As per my knowledge, after stamping of new Visa on passport, consulate officer will cancel my exiting L1-A Individual Visa.


What will happen with L2-EAD? Will EAD also become invalid immediately after stamping of L1A-Blanket Visa?

You need to reapply for L2 EAD along with spouse new L2 (if needed), spouse new I94 & L1's I797.

New Visa (L Blanket) will be stamped by November end. Can my spouse continue her job/work till expiry of existing EAD (March 2020), while EAD renewal would be in progress (Dec 2019 onward) after stamping?

Unlike H1/L1 status, spouse cannot work post EAD expiry, if you do not have renewed EAD in hand.

Per my understanding, your spouse can continue to work till EAD expiry (March 2020), but if the renewed EAD is not received until then, she may have to leave her job.
