L2 (I-539) and EAD (I-765) extension -- Aug filing date

Hi everyone,

My L2 visa and EAD both expire on 31 Dec 2019. I am currently employed and my employer is chasing me to provide renewed EAD.
My husband's L1A extension had been filed under premium processing and has been recently approved.
Both my extension forms I-539 and I-765 are filed at Texas service center.

My law firm states they can't do anything till the applications are within standard processing period (5-6 months).
I read online that we can file an expedite request with USCIS using local congressperson's help (live in NY state).

Looking for some guidance from experienced people on the below questions-
- What is the process for L2/EAD expedition process?
- What are the chances of success? Is it worth doing?
- Anyone with Aug 2019 L2/EAD extension received any response from USCIS yet?
- How do I manage expectations with my employer?

That's correct.
