SSN for Dependents on L2

Hello,
I browsed through a lot for this query I have and it has left me even more confused.

I came to US in Nov'-09 on L1 and have got SSN.

Can I get SSN for my wife and my 2 yr-old daughter who are on L2 ?
My wife doesn't have an EAD.

You cannot. SSN will be issued only to people who are authorized to work. You need to get an ITIN number for your dependents.

I do have ITINs for both of them.

So to summarize, I cannot have SSN for my daughter at all.
And my wife can have SSN only after she gets EAD.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
