    Greetings of the season!

    I gave my visa interview for L1-B blanket petition at Chennai location on Jan 2nd, 2020 for 09:45AM slot.

    i completed VAC in Hyderabad a week before interview date.

    Quick snippet of my interview:

    Me : Good Morning Officer, Happy New Year. How are you doing?
    VO : Good Morning with a smile on face. thank You.

    VO : Hans over your Passport
    Me : Gave passport and three sets of I-129s, DS-160 & I-797 copy. (You will be asked to put these docs in this sequence before you enter the visa interview counter)

    VO : What visa are you applying for
    Me : L1-B Blanket Visa

    VO : What company do you work for
    ME : Told XYZ Company name (Reputed MNC and Fortune 500)

    VO : where are you going to work?
    ME : Salt Lake City, Utah

    VO : What is your Annual Salary
    ME : Told my Annual salary

    VO : What are you going to do there?
    ME : I’m responsible for Developing and Implementing complex configuration solutions to my company’s proprietary tools and subsidiary software applications and debug issues reported by clients. (This is an extract from support letter).

    VO : How long have you been working for your company?
    ME : 5.9 years

    VO : Have you been to US before?
    ME : Yes

    VO : what visa were you in US before?
    ME : F-1 student visa

    VO : which university & city
    ME : Told

    VO : Have you worked on OPT (Optional Practical Training)?
    ME : Yes

    VO : What was the time gap between graduation and OPT job start date
    ME : two months ( I got a full time job)

    VO : Typed something for about 30 seconds in system

    VO : Gave me a blue slip 221(g) stating visa need to go through Application Processing. Also, gave me a case number for tracking the status. (Also, VO retained/kept my passport and I-129 copies)

    ME : Just curious, Does that mean my visa is denied?

    VO : No, it just need to go through AP.

    ME : How long would it take for completing AP?

    VO : About a week and a half

    ME : Thank You Officer. You have a good day

    VO : You too!!


    So, what are the chances of approval in this case?. I did not had any law violation records or DUI tickets or was not illegally present during my F1 visa status.

    in worse case scenario, what are the options if the visa is denied?

    please share your thoughts.

    The chances are still high. Remember the VO had option to straight away reject your visa, but he put you on Admin processing. So stay positive, you'll get your visa soon.
