You can get a visa appointment anytime (as per the open visa slots) as long as the petition is extended. Your employer will need to file the extension and you get the petition to be approved for attending the visa interview.

Doesn't matter whethere it is an extension or a new petition. The L1B petition need to get approved for you to go for stamping. I hope your current petition expires on June 7th.

Visa is usually issued until the petition validity. So I assume your petition will also expire on the same day.

Hey thanks for all the help

I came back to india on 31st May 2010 and my first L1- B expired on 7th June 2010 (3 years).

i have again applied for new L1 - Blanket and will have interview on 11th Aug 2010. I heard that if you already had a L1 B once, you need to be in india atleast for 1 year ?

during these 3 years of L1 - B i stayed 14 months in india but not in one stretch

There is no rule like that.
But as always, it depends on USCIS to approve petition, and VO to issue visa.
