L2 visa extension - apply for extension from US

Hi All,

For L2 visa holder - Is it advisable to apply for extension from within US ,or accompany spouse (L1 visa) for simultaneous stamping in Mexico ? My company immigration team suggested to proceed with L (Blanket) stamping first in Mexico, and then apply for L2 extension from US. I am not sure about the rational because I think it makes sense for both the applicants to travel together for stamping.

I guess the company is just trying to save some money on L2 visit to Mexico & stamping.
