L1-A extension Request for Initial Evidence

Hi -

My husband filed for his L1-A extension under premium processing last week and today the USCIS case status showed Request for Initial Evidence was sent. We are very anxious and do not understand what it means and how it's different from Request for additional evidence. Does anyone have any experience what it could mean? Thanks!
