  • Does the applicant have to pay the visa filing fees in US consulate in Mexico

Does the applicant have to pay the visa filing fees out of pocket when appearing for visa interview in any of the US consulates in Mexico ?

My previous visa filing fees were paid by my company when I had applied from India. However, immigration team of my company mentioned that the applicant has to pay via credit/debit card the visa filing fees ( ~ $ 5k) when the US consulate is in Mexico.

Is this a standard procedure and has any one of your paid out of pocket and then got it reimbursed by your company ?

    Thanks in advance

Well, its between you & your company to decide who is paying. USCIS doesn't force who should pay for it - as long as they are getting their money.

Usually company should be paying for the fee, but for extensions some companies do not pay/reimburse.
