L1A to Greencard application time frame

Hi,

I came to USA on Sep 13th 2019 on L1A. I want to go for GC processing but my employer is asking to wait for 2 years to start the process and they said that the attorney suggested to wait for 2 years to initiate GC processing
Can someone please let me know if this is correct or what is the logic behind this

There is no logic/published rule to wait for filing GC. It might be your company's internal policy to file GC only after 2 years.
