L1 visa Help Please

I have a successful company in uk and i am the director and manger of my own company with turn over of over half a millio per year , i would like to expand and open a branch in usa . please tell me
1- do i need to apply L1 as employer first or i simply apply for L1 visa , what i mean is i read some where that the employer company (my own company ) needs to have blanket visa than employee(which is again me ) will need to apply for L1 visa?
or am i wrong and i just need to apply for L1 visa as an employee thats it no need for my company to get any kind of blanket visa

You have multiple ways to move to USA.
1. EB5 (Green card) - you can directly apply for Green card under EB5 category, if you are willing to invest $500K - $1M in USA for your new branch.
2. L1A Individual - you can apply to petition yourself as worker in your own company & the purpose for you to move to USA is to setup a branch office of your UK company. Once your petition is approved you need to visit local embassy to get your visa.
3. L1A Blanket - Usually this is for companies sending more number of persons from their foreign branch to USA branch.
